My name is Ana María Millán Vargas. I was born in Cali, Colombia. I'm a 24th year old Colombian, I'm studying pharmaceutical chemistry in my home city.
I have a very busy life, full of homeworks, projects and exams. I love everything I do, specially working with patients in hospitals, but everybody needs a break.
Each summer, my family and I travel somewhere inside Colombia. We have traveled to Santa Marta, Calima, Pereira, Cartagena and other beautiful cities in my country.

The best vacations I have ever had. The last year,   when my family and I traveled to Cartagena and Santa Marta, the most beautiful places I have ever met.
This magical cities, are full of interesting and attracting places to meet.

The first place that we visited in Cartagena was the beach, which is called Bocagrandre. It is a very nice beach and has many waves. Unfortunately my brother does not like much to the waves hit your face, then I play we get out. In the evening we went to the historic center of Cartagena. Here lies the castle of san Felipe, churches and the most romantic and luxurious restaurants in town. Cartagena is hot, even at night, so my family and I decided to go to a very famous place called: The paletería. In this place sell ice lolly of different flavors, are certainly the best ice lolly in the world. My family and I stayed late in the historic center of Cartagena and decided to go to the hotel and get some rest and come back the next day in the morning.

The next day we met the Gold Museum where all the crafts made by different cultures as the Tayrona or the Calimas. The museum visit was very entertaining, plus we learned a lot about the history of many cultures that once lived in Colombia. Then we went to the naval museum where we learned all about the arrival of the Spanish in Cartagena de Indias. We also met uniforms used by the army at that time and the weapons with which they defended the Spaniards and all those who tried to take over Cartagena.

That same day we decided to travel to Santa Marta, a city that is a four hours of Cartagena. Once we arrived in Santa Marta we  went to the rodadero, which is one of the beaches of Santa Marta. We were there for hours, even though it was night looked stunning beach and palm trees danced to the rhythm of the wind.

The next day we decided to go to one of the most beautiful beaches of Santa Marta, is called: Playa Blanca. It is undoubtedly the most beautiful beach that my eyes have seen. This beach has no waves and is a light blue color that allows to see the fishes swimming. I think it is ideal for those who don’t swim because it is peaceful and it can stay for hours watching the sea. 

The following day we went to more beaches in Santa Marta, like Bahía concha and playa Cristral. I would definitely go back to all that dreamish places; they were, without a doubt, my best vacations.
